Jen McAllister, CPA

CPA / Controller / CFO

Meet Jen McAllister, the fearless leader of Rise CPA & Accountants.

Jen has spent her life seeking after knowledge. She graduated with a BA in Business Management, a few years later decided to get a BA in Accounting. With an ever-growing family she continued her education and accomplished an MBA on the weekends, followed by months of grueling studying and passing of the CPA exams.

Jen has worked with a variety of businesses from: e-commerce, reclamation, technology, retail, government, dairy farming and others. She is passionate about helping others RISE, including the team of wonderful, strong, smart, women; the respected clients; and hopes to soon be able to help other women (young and old) rise to their full potential.

She has been happily married for 13 years to her husband, enjoying a blended family with 7 crazy grown-up kids. They love being active, and the highlight of each year is going to Lake Powell as a family. Jen has two additional furry kids – a Boxer and a Frenchie.

Sarah

Accountant

Sarah has a Bachelors in Business Administration from Cal Baptist University and has been working in finance/accounting for 15 years.

She has worked in many different industries such as e-commerce, real estate, retail, nonprofit, to name a few. She loves helping out clients and getting their processes streamlined.

Sarah lives in California with her husband and two wild boys. She loves spending time with her family and travels whenever possible

Kristin

Accountant

Kristin graduated with a BS in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance from BYU in 2004. She has worked as a bookkeeper, controller, and CFO for a small business. With almost 20 years of experience in accounting, she has done a little bit of everything including HR, payroll, payroll tax, sales tax, AR, AP, month end reporting and financial analysis. She has been included on many executive teams and has worked closely with banks and outside accounting firms.

Kristin has worked with a variety of businesses including sporting goods, importers, e-commerce and manufacturers. Her experience in manufacturing over the last eight years has included experience in inventory management and profitability via cost reductions. She has been part of two ERP implementations and has experience with NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics. Additionally, she has used QuickBooks Enterprise since 2003.

When she is not helping customers grow their business, she is a wife, a mom to four daughters, a runner and an avid sports fan. She loves to be outside and her family is her whole world.

Kirsten

Accountant / Payroll Specialst

Kirsten is our team’s payroll specialist and works with a wide variety of clients to keep their payroll accurate and on schedule. She received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from BYU in 2007 and previously worked as the accountant for several real estate investing and rental companies. She loves learning and is continually taking classes to add to her accounting expertise.

Kirsten loves spending time with her family and especially loves being a mom to her six beautiful children. She loves to build and create things, her favorite being home improvement projects. She loves to run, ski, travel and read. Her most recent adventure has been raising backyard honeybees with her son.

When she is not helping customers grow their business, she is a wife, a mom to four daughters, a runner and an avid sports fan. She loves to be outside and her family is her whole world.

Lynne

Accountant

Lynne has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame. She spent four years at a Big 4 accounting firm and two years in the private sector managing the company’s internal audit department before she took some time away to raise her four amazing kids.

Lynne loves gathering with her big extended family as much as she can. She enjoys books and podcasts and is an avid baker who loves to feed people. She and her husband share a deep love of baseball and travel to several stadiums each year with a goal to visit them all.

Weldon

Accountant / Tax Strategist

Weldon is a dedicated financial professional with a passion for helping individuals and businesses navigate the complexities of tax preparation and financial management. With a strong background in numbers and a commitment to accuracy, Weldon takes pride in offering services that ensure his clients get the most out of their finances.

When he’s not crunching numbers, Weldon enjoys solving puzzles, exploring new adventures, and spending quality time with his wife. His dedication to his clients is matched only by his commitment to family, faith, and making a positive impact in the lives of those he serve

Sadie

Bookkeeper

Meet Sadie, our dedicated Bookkeeper. Sadie thrives in organization, and her attention to detail and fun-loving personality add so much to our team. She works with a diverse range of clients, including specialty dog breeders, a dance studio, a nonprofit medical relief organization, and a property management company, keeping their books accurate and their finances running smoothly. She studied Business Management and Accounting at Utah Valley University and is currently finishing her master’s in Speech Pathology at the University of Utah.

She loves being active and is always up for an adventure of any kind – especially traveling. She has a very big family whom she loves to spend time with. She laughs easily, is a joy to be around, and a solid member of our team.

Chelsie

Bookkeeper

Chelsie brings valuable accounting experience to our team, with expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and reconciliations. She helps clients maintain healthy cash flow by ensuring invoices are paid on time, vendor payments are managed accurately, and accounts are reconciled with precision. Her detail-oriented approach and dedication to doing things well give clients confidence that their financial records are accurate and up to date.

Outside of work, Chelsie is a wife and a mother to two very energetic young boys. She loves spending time outdoors with her family and at the gym, which helps her in her quest to be healthy and happy. She is eager to learn and accomplish new things, and she loves to build and create, especially when it comes to home improvement projects.

Kimberly

Accountant

Kimberly Bird holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Utah Tech University. Her experience spans public accounting, including audit work with a Big Four firm, and industry roles with property management companies. She has contributed to complex financial initiatives such as IPOs, acquisitions, and debt restructurings, while also bringing hands-on expertise in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and analysis. This well-rounded background helps her understand the financial and operational needs of growing businesses.

When she’s not helping clients achieve their business goals, Kimberly enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fly fishing and camping. She also loves sewing, baking, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

Kayla

Accountant

Kayla earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Mount Olive in North Carolina, where she also played college basketball. She is now pursuing her Master of Accountancy at Utah Valley University. Kayla brings the discipline, work ethic, and teamwork she developed on the court to every client relationship, helping clients keep their finances organized, accurate, and stress-free. Outside the office, Kayla gives back to her community as an assistant coach for a local high school basketball team.

Travis

Client Development

Travis wears many hats at Rise. He serves as the team’s IT lead, oversees all marketing and AI implementation, and manages the books and financials for several clients. He is a graduate of Southern Utah University with a bachelor’s degree in Education and spent his early career as an educator and high school football coach. Before joining Rise, Travis spent 14 years working in sales and client development across a variety of industries, experience that shapes how he builds relationships and serves clients today. He is excited to be working with the team of amazing and talented women who make up Rise.

He loves being active with any kind of physical exercise, attending sporting events, and participating in outdoor activities with his family. With a background in sports and education, he has spent countless hours on the football field coaching others to achieve their goals. When not on the field or in the gym, you’ll find him traveling with his wife Jen on their many adventures.
