How Pearl Pop Is Rethinking the Toothbrushing Routine
Getting kids to brush their teeth is not always the easiest part of a parent’s day. Utah founders Kimber Crandall and Bryson Barney saw an opportunity to make that everyday routine simpler and more enjoyable.
They created Pearl Pop, a soft, chewy alternative to traditional toothpaste. Pearl Pop Toothpaste Pearls are chewed before brushing, replacing the usual squeeze-from-a-tube routine with a format designed to be approachable for kids.
A Different Approach to an Everyday Habit
Pearl Pop takes something families already do every day and changes the experience without changing the goal.
Its toothpaste pearls are fluoride-free and sulfate-free and contain 5% nano-hydroxyapatite and xylitol. The routine itself stays simple: chew a pearl, brush for two minutes, then spit without rinsing.
That simplicity is central to the product. Instead of asking families to adopt a complicated new routine, Pearl Pop reimagines a familiar one.
From a Utah Idea to More Than 10,000 Families
Based in Vineyard, Utah, Pearl Pop reports that its products have now reached more than 10,000 families, with options available for both kids and adults.
The company has also gained attention outside Utah. Pearl Pop has been featured by FOX29 Philadelphia, Utah Business, ABC4’s Good Things Utah, Studio 5, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which featured Pearl Pop among five standout products from the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas.
Co-founder Kimber Crandall also shared Pearl Pop’s story on How I Built This with Guy Raz. During an Advice Line episode featuring Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal, she discussed the challenge of bringing the company’s chewable toothpaste concept to a broader market.
